Parks and Recreation Board

Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of seven members, all of whom shall be appointed by the City Commission by majority vote of the members elect thereof.

The Parks and Recreation Commission shall plan, conduct, supervise, and maintain public play fields, athletic fields, recreation centers, and other recreation facilities and activities with the consent of the owners thereof. It shall have the power to conduct any form of recreation or cultural activity that will employ the leisure time of the people in a constructive and wholesome manner.  Also, to accept basic responsibilities for preserving and enhancing the beauty of private and public places.  It shall encourage the placing, planting, and preservation of trees, flowers, and shrubbery, and sponsor and promote Arbor Day.  And, the Commission shall sponsor a program of general improvement of the appearance of all properties in the city.
