PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
FY 2025-2026 BUDGET
The City of Imlay City is giving public notice of the availability of the FY 2025-26 budget proposal as submitted by the City Manager to the City Commission pursuant to the Imlay City Charter Chapter 8, General Finance. Copies of the budget proposal are available at City Hall, 150 N Main Street, Imlay City, Michigan 48444 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM and Wednesday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM.
A public hearing on the FY 2025-2026 budget proposal will be held at City Hall on Tuesday, May 06, 2025, at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as may be heard. The proposed property tax millage rates to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
The estimated 16.9637 mills are levied on the taxable valuation for the purpose of meeting operating requirements of the General Fund, approximately 2.3930 mills levied for road and sidewalks and 1.3955 mills levied for the fire hall for the fiscal year of 2025-2026.
All interested citizens will have the opportunity to give written and oral comments. Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for effective participation should contact the City Clerk a week in advance to request mobility, visual, hearing or other assistance at

UPDATE TO MASTER PLAN
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to state Public Act 33 of 2008, as amended, the Planning Commission of City of Imlay City will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the City Office, located at 150 N Main Street Imlay City MI 48444. The public hearing is intended to provide an opportunity for interested citizens to express their opinions regarding all aspects of a proposed update to the City’s Master Plan. The Master Plan serves as a guide for the physical development of the City, by setting forth goals and policies and providing a comprehensive view of the preferred future.
An electronic copy of the proposed Master Plan can be downloaded from the City’s website at the following internet address: www.imlaycity.org. You may also request to view a hard copy of the Master Plan at City Offices.
Those unable to attend the public hearing are invited to submit written comments to the attention of the City Clerk at the City Office address noted above or by e-mail to treasurer@imlaycity.org. All written comments must be received by no later than 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The City has achieved Tree City USA status by meeting four core standards of sound urban forestry management: Maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrating Arbor Day.
