Melissa Anglebrandt was born and raised in Imlay City; graduating from Imlay City High School in 1989. Melissa is the daughter of Chief Larry Dougherty, former ICPD Chief. Melissa grew up having a passion for Imlay City and was involved in numerous city activities and fundraisers.
Melissa went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from Ferris State University in Criminal Justice. Melissa started her career in Law Enforcement with the State of Michigan as a Probation/Parole Officer. She went on to attend Central Michigan University for a Graduate Degree in Counseling and Guidance.
She enjoys teaching Criminal Justice classes at St. Clair Community College and spends her down time on her therapeutic horse farm where she runs the Horses4Heros program.
