The Imlay City Department of Public Works consists of one supervisor and four employees. The department’s major area of responsibility includes maintenance of all city buildings, parks, and pool, repair and maintenance of all streets and water and sewer mains. Other responsibilities are placement of holiday decorations, leaf and brush collections, repair and maintenance of department equipment, sidewalk repair/replacement, winter maintenance such as salting and snow removal, and reading and servicing of water meters. Each year, the department provides an invaluable service and numerous man-hours assisting the Chamber of Commerce throughout the Blueberry Festival.
